About Us
The Fooled No More Foundation shines a hopeful light on coercive control — the pattern of manipulation, gaslighting, and control that keeps people trapped in narcissistic abuse, whether it comes from a partner, a parent, or another family member. We help people recognize what's happening to them and give them the tools and support to break free.
Often, people caught in coercive control don't see themselves as victims. That's not an accident — gaslighting, humiliation, and guilt-tripping are built to make you doubt your own perception of what's happening.
Acknowledging the problem is brave. It requires recognizing your own dignity, and your right to respect and a fulfilling life.
Our resources, support, and advice have guided many people out of coercive control, offering clarity and a path forward. No matter where you are on your journey, we're here to help, illuminating your path to a brighter, liberated future.
Meet the Founder
Hello, my name is Meredith Malleck
I am a survivor of coercive control and narcissistic abuse, and an advocate for others going through it.
One of the most troubling parts of coercive control is not recognizing it while you're in the middle of it — whether it's during the discard phase, when you're at your lowest, or even afterward.
I've used a lot of metaphors to explain how my abuser tried to destroy me without physical violence — though there were moments it was physical too, including being strangled twice.
He led me to the edge of the cliff; and he didn't need to push me — I jumped.
No one should face this alone. That's why I founded what's now The Fooled No More Foundation — to educate, support, and advocate for anyone working to break free from coercive control, whatever relationship it's coming from.

We believe in empowering individuals to embrace their true selves, define their own futures, and positively impact the world.
