Different Phases
Everyone is on a different path with coercive control — whether it's from a partner, a parent, or another family member. Wherever you are, there is help, and there is hope. Read through these phases, see where you recognize yourself, and take the first step toward regaining your Sovereignty.

Lost
You're questioning your own reality. This is often what gaslighting is designed to do — alongside isolation from the people who'd normally help you see clearly, monitoring of your time and communication, or control over money and basic needs. If you're not sure what's true anymore, that confusion is a symptom, not a flaw in you.

Understanding
Coming to understand that this has a name — coercive control — and that you've been fooled and brainwashed, not "too sensitive" or "making it up." This phase often starts the moment you can name a specific tactic being used against you.

Seek Help
Seek a therapist experienced with narcissistic abuse and coercive control. Seek safety from a shelter if you need it, and legal counsel from an attorney experienced negotiating with a narcissist. Document what's happening as you go — dates, messages, incidents — it helps later, whether or not you end up needing it.
