Families need courts that can respond effectively to coercive control, false filings, custody interference, and retaliatory abuse during and after separation. We ask for your support of legislation and court reforms that strengthen accountability, improve evidence handling, protect due process, and provide survivors with meaningful access to relief before harm escalates.
What We're Fighting For
• Coercive control laws — legislation that recognizes coercive control as a form of abuse in its own right, not just a lead-up to physical violence.
• Litigation abuse & vexatious litigant reform — limits on the use of repeated, frivolous motions to exhaust a survivor's time, money, and legal options.
• Family court transparency & judicial accountability — real oversight of how family courts handle abuse allegations, so patterns of bias don't go unchecked.
• Standardized custody evaluator training — required, consistent training for custody evaluators to recognize coercive control and manipulation tactics, instead of leaving it to individual judgment.
• Rights for protective parents — legal protection for parents trying to shield their children from an abusive parent, so doing so isn't treated as parental alienation by default.

The Fooled No More Foundation is launching a critical advocacy campaign to bridge the gap between recognizing narcissistic abuse and achieving systemic justice in our legal system.
The Problem: The Hidden Burden of Litigation Abuse For many, the end of a relationship is not the end of the harm. Many individuals experience a form of "institutionalized" abuse where the legal process itself becomes a weapon.
Together, we can ensure that survivors are fooled no more..
